SyroCraft: Bidding Our Farewells — Readying Our Future

After over 12 incredible years, it's time to share some bittersweet news — our Minecraft server will officially be shutting down.

Thank You

To everyone who has been part of this journey: thank you. Whether you joined us in the early days or discovered us recently, you helped build something truly special.

Over the years, we've seen:

Countless builds, from pesky dirt penis' to breathtaking cities

Bitter rivals discovered and friendships formed across the globe

Late nights, inside jokes, and memories that will last a lifetime

This server was never just about building — it was about the people who placed the blocks.

Why We're Closing

After over a decade, it's time for a new chapter. With Hytale launching, our community will be shifting focus to that and other modern games moving forward. Rather than let the Minecraft server continue to fade, we'd rather close on our own terms and celebrate what we built together.

This isn't an ending. It's an evolution.

Timeline

January 1st, 2026 — Server goes read-only (explore, but no building)
January 12th — Final shutdown

World downloads will be available so you can keep a piece of our world forever.

A Message to You

To the veterans who've been here since the beginning — you laid the foundation for everything.

To the builders, the explorers, the redstone engineers, the pranksters — you made every login an adventure.

To Chaos & Frog, who gave their time to keep this place running — we couldn't have done it without you.

And to everyone who ever called this server home — this was your world as much as ours.

What's Next

The Minecraft server may be ending, but our community isn't going anywhere. We're excited to explore Hytale and other games together. Stay in the Discord, keep in touch, and let's build something new.

The best is yet to come.

Heads up! The server will be down for maintenance while we prepare 1.20.1 for release. Which will very likely be the fastest update SyroCraft has ever had! See you soon.

Planning for Minecraft 1.20. As veteran players know, SyroCraft is often one of the last servers that moves to a new update.

This is because of our reliance on third-party plugins. Which we have reduced over our 11 years of existence.

This time will be no different, however. We still rely on a few major plugins like WorldGuard, WorldEdit, Essentials, Lockette, and a few others that help us maintain the additional content we provide.

So please be patient. We will do all we can to move to the new update as soon as possible.

Stay tuned for more information regarding what will happen with our V5 (current) survival world.
